About Us

Ever since Farm Meat Market was founded in 2016 by William Farrugia, it has since established itself as one of the leading meat processing companies on the Maltese Islands.

Interestingly, the company’s roots date back to the early 1940s, when Mr Farrugia’s late grandfather, Vincent Zahra, known as ‘tax-xkejjer’, started operating San Blas Farm Ltd. Being a family-run pig farm, its operation and management required a complete team effort. Mr Zahra had taken William under his wing to teach him everything there is to know about the industry. Later on, William’s uncle, Philip Zahra, was responsible for the general maintenance and production of the farm before it was eventually passed on to William. Ultimately, this helped William garner the knowledge, experience and skills in the field, in the years to come.
